You know, there were mp4 and wmv files already on the Touhou PVD DVD disc as extras. Also, the mpeg2 version of Shuwa Supa Daisakusen, that's on the dvd is really shitty.

mp4 on dvd was better than mpeg2 and wmv, but still full of blocks and banding, so I decided to reencode it. If you don't like the idea that one can make rip that looks better than source (or that reencode is twice bigger :), you always can download original dvd.

To reencode lossy is always a bad thing.

Of course you can make a higher quality encode thats superior to the original source, especially when a lot of the so called "professional" encoders (you know the ones that make the original DVDs and BDs) are really bad at theyr work, flickering, blocking, banding, mosquito noise (its like the 90s all over again) blueray was suppossed to end all that but most "pros" still havent got the hang of it properly (EVEN whit 50gigs of space and 50mbps to work around!) so you can take a poorly made encode, and filter out the crap to get a BETTER looking encode (hopefully at half the size but size does not matter that much anymore, you can make decent looking 720p at 2gigs per hour, and 1080p at 4 gigs per hour, but if your adamant about quality its okay to even double those figures for a 99% identical to source encode, assuming that the source was perfect to begin whit)
